“SUCCESS DEPENDS ON WHAT IS DONE, NOT WHAT IS SAID”

I started my swimming career with the Macomb YMCA Marlins in 1973 and swam for them for 13 years. In 1987 I began coaching the Marlins swim team. During the time frame of coaching with the Marlins, I have coached over 13 National Teams, which involved more than 40 different athletes. Many of these athletes received athletic scholarships at the colleges in which they choose to attend. During the 2007-2008 season for the Marlins, I coached seven different swimmers at the YMCA National meet in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.

I began coaching high school swimming, with the Mt. Clemens High School boy’s team in 1989. Due to pursuing my college degree, I quit coaching high school until Chippewa Valley opened Dakota High School. In 1995, I coached both of the girls and boys swim programs for both high schools. After the first year, Dakota hired a girl’s swim coach and the programs were divided. The Chippewa Valley girls swim team had several successes while I was their coach. The girls finished 2^nd place twice at the Macomb County meet and had 2 Division Championships. The boys’ team had 2 top five finishes at the County meet as well as a Division Meet Championship.

In 2001 the pool at L'Anse Creuse North opened and I began coaching my alma mater. Through the years I have witnessed swimmers of all levels come through the program. I enjoy the challenge of working with all levels of athletes. For swimmers that join the team that have no competitive experience, I enjoy watching swimmers learn and eventually excel. For those swimmers that join the team with previous competitive experience I enjoy the challenge of trying to get them to excel.

Their are 3 common goal that I have every season for every team:

1. Maximize the number of qualifiers of every team for the County Meet, MISCA Meet and the Division 1 State Meet

2. Earn the Sportsman Award as voted by the coaches and presented by the Macomb Athletic Conference

3. Continue to earn All-Academic Awards for individual swimmers having GPA's over 3.75 and Team Scholar awards for having team GPA's over 3.2.

I know that the swim teams at LCN will have a very bright future. I envision LCN being the type of program that all participants, be it athletes, parents or spectators will be proud of. With a great deal of help from everyone this program can exceed every person’s expectations and could produce swimmers that have the capabilities of competing at the international level.

My name is Tori Lefebvre and I'm currently attending Macomb Community College. I dove on the varsity diving team at LCN for four years.

This is my first year as the head diving coach. Previously I worked with the boys dive coach last season and coached the middle school diving team for four years. I have three goals for each season: 1 - all divers is to place top 16th at the Macomb County swim and dive meet (to help the team become more successful), 2 - to qualify every diver for the regional meet and the Division 1 State Meet, and finally 3 - help the every diver achieve their own personal goals!
 

My name is Nick Scurto, I swam varsity for Fraser High School. I started teaching swim lessons at Fraser Aquatics from 2008-2013. I enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 2013 and completed my contract in 2018. Afterwards, I started teaching at Fraser Aquatics again, and currently still there.

This is my first season coaching, and excited for the opportunities to learn new techniques as well as pass on what I know. Some of the goals I have for the season is to help the students achieve their personal goals as well as for them to have fun and enjoy what they do. Athletes always perform better when they enjoy what they do.
